The Middle Ages were not all darkness. Trier was a city with charisma and attraction long after the Romans, not least thanks to some famous relics and its location directly on the Way of St. James.
Our route takes us through the city centre past churches, monasteries and convents. We will discover the Jewish quarter with residential houses from the 14th century. At the Hauptmarkt we will retrace the long power struggle between the archbishop and the citizens.
We will rummage for traces of the guilds and merchants and find fortified residential towers and hospices. Our tour goes as far as the Moselle crane on the Way of St. James, on which Trier was an important stage.
