The theme of this tour is the eventful history of the Treblinka II death camp. Located in a remote area, but only about 100 kilometers from Warsaw, Treblinka was a death factory. Here the Nazis killed over 870,000 Jews in just over a year. The first transport of prisoners from the Warsaw Ghetto arrived in July 1942. Since then, Jews from Poland, France, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Yugoslavia, Slovakia and the USSR have been deported to Treblinka on a daily basis. In August 1943, an armed uprising broke out. Only 100 prisoners survived. After the uprising, the camp was liquidated by the Nazis. After the end of the war, one of the most impressive Holocaust memorials in the world was built on the camp site.
On this 6 hour tour to Treblinka you will learn about a real location and the history of the most efficient and second largest murder operation in Nazi occupied Poland. You will learn how meticulously the plan for the final solution to the Jewish question was implemented in Treblinka. With a German-speaking guide, visit the Museum of Struggle and Martyrdom in Treblinka and explore the camp grounds. You enter the symbolic main gate to the camp and walk along the railway ramp. You'll stop at the stunning Holocaust Memorial and learn about its symbolism. You hear about Janusz Korczak and children from his orphanage. Although you can no longer see any infrastructure on site, the experience of being in this place is unforgettable. Every memorial stone in Treblinka tells a story.
