Description of Tour

City Tour of Lisbon's Old Town

Our city tour of Lisbon starts at Praca dos Restauradores. From here we take the famous Glória cable car to the viewpoint of S. Pedro de Alcântara. Here we enjoy a dreamlike view of the lower city.

Then we stroll through the trendy Bairro Alto, center of nightlife, passing the picturesque Carmo Square and Elevator Santa Justa.

Through the elegant neighborhoods of Chiado we find small shopping malls, boutiques, historic cafes and old bookshops.

Through Lisbon's central meeting place, Rossio Square, the perfect place to learn more about Lisbon's history, walk through Praça da Figueira and the Baixa we learn how much the city has changed since the devastating 1755 earthquake that destroyed 85 percent of the city.

Continue to the Old Town. Walk through the picturesque alleys of the Alfama quarter to the Romanesque cathedral and St. Anthony's Church.

At Praça do Comércio we enjoy the magnificent view along the Tagus River.
