The baroque family mansion of 1759 had István Széchenyi rebuilt in 1834-40 in the neoclassical style to the castle.
After reconstruction (1969-73), however, part of the building complex was used as a museum dedicated to the great reformer, and the rest as a castle hotel and restaurant.
