Marseille should not be missed !
The city, which was European Capital of Culture in 2013, will surprise you with its beauty and cultural richness !
The oldest city in France was founded 2600 years ago by Greek sailors and developed over the centuries around its ancient port, the "Vieux Port".
This beautiful picturesque port is in the heart of the city, this is where people meet, this is where life emanates from: the traditional fish market, the ferries that take us all the way to the opposite islands, the main street "Canebière" that harks back to the splendid times of the colonies with its old mansions.
In the numerous cafés and restaurants, you can enjoy the traditional fish dish " Bouillabaisse ", with a view of the old port and the Basilica Notre-Dame de la Garde, landmark of the city, towering above. In the metropolis of the south, multicultural flair prevails, Marseille is still called " gateway to the Orient.
The city has a very beautiful long rocky coastline and offers wonderful views over the sea and the islands, as well as of the Château d'If, prison of the Count of MonteCristo, surrounded by water. You will also get these beautiful views on our tour: the small tourist train that takes us to the Basilica N.D. de la Garde, namely also comes along the coast. (The trip to ND de la Garde by the small train takes about an hour and a half in total with the stop at the Basilica in our tour).
An unforgettable tour in the metropolis of the south!
