Description of Tour

In the mid-19th century, the south of the state of Chile was recolonized on behalf of the government. European immigrants were brought to settle the present regions of Los Rios and Los Lagos.

The area in which the immigrants built cities such as Valdivia, Osorno, Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt is characterized by its countless lakes and beautiful volcanoes.
Our trip takes us from the north to the south, focusing on the climbs of the most important volcanoes of the country, passes through the most important national parks and also lets us enjoy the benefits of city or village life. It is an invitation to experience the south of Chile from a special perspective, to gain your own impression of the country from high mountains and deep valleys.

Highlights: The south of Chile: region of lakes and rivers; climbing the volcanoes Mocho Choshuenco (2,415m), Puyehue (2,240m), Osorno (2,652m), Calbuco* (2,015m) and Casa Blanca (1.990m); Hike of 60km (from Casablanca volcano between Rupanco and Todos Los Santos lakes to Osorno volcano); Hot springs in Puyehue and El Callao; Puerto Varas - the city of roses; Vicente Perez Rosales National Park amp; Puyehue; Llanquihue and Huilo Huilo National Reserves; Natural hot springs; Rafting*, canyoning*; Stay in a tree house**, tents, mountain huts and hotels***, nature amp; culture.

* Included optional excursion, subject to tour itinerary and availability.

** subject to availability.

*** Boutique hotel, 3-star or equivalent.

Once at the summit, we will enjoy the beautiful views of southern Chile: the volcanoes Callaqui, Tolhuace, Lonquimay, Llaima, Villarica, Quetrupillán and Lanin to the north. And especially on the way awaiting us: volcano Puyehue, Casablanca, Osorno, Tronador, Puntiagudo and Calbuco, as well as the lakes Calafquén, Panquipulli, Ranco, Riñihue, Neltume and Pirihueico.

The ascent of Osornos Volcano starts in the early morning hours. We choose the east slope to climb, as it requires more glacier hiking techniques. 1,500m of elevation gain, glacier crossing, slopes up to 60° (guide:client ratio = 1:2). This climb allows us to stand in 6-8h at the best viewpoint of the south of Chile!
