In the mid-19th century, the south of the state of Chile was recolonized on behalf of the government. European immigrants were brought to settle the present regions of Los Rios and Los Lagos.
The area in which the immigrants built cities such as Valdivia, Osorno, Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt is characterized by its countless lakes and beautiful volcanoes.

Once at the summit, we will enjoy the beautiful views of southern Chile: the volcanoes Callaqui, Tolhuace, Lonquimay, Llaima, Villarica, Quetrupillán and Lanin to the north. And especially on the way awaiting us: volcano Puyehue, Casablanca, Osorno, Tronador, Puntiagudo and Calbuco, as well as the lakes Calafquén, Panquipulli, Ranco, Riñihue, Neltume and Pirihueico. |

We choose the east slope to climb, as it requires more glacier hiking techniques. 1,500m of elevation gain, glacier crossing, slopes up to 60° (guide:client ratio = 1:2).
