A compact entry into the history and present of Madrid. For everyone who wants to get to know the Spanish capital.
The more than two-hour hike through the center of Madrid takes you back to the Moorish beginnings of the Spanish capital, to its history in the late Middle Ages and to the glorious era of the Habsburgs and the Bourbons. Tourist classics such as the Plaza Mayor and the Palacio Real can be admired as well as hidden streets that suddenly open up into imposing boulevards such as the Paseo del Prado. Burnings of heretics, legends of virgins, royal weddings appear before the eyes of the visitor. Crooks, quick-change artists and anarchists meet prominent figures from the history of Madrid and all of Spain: Philip II, Diego Velázquez, Miguel de Cervantes, Francisco Goya. At the same time, however, current developments and events that are heating up the minds in Spain are also highlighted.
A varied program for everyone who wants to get a first insight into the present and past of the Spanish metropolis.
Competent, well illustrated, entertaining, presented by an officially licensed guide with almost 20 years of professional experience, author of several Madrid travel guides (Merian). Experience Madrid up close with me!
