The district around Westminster Abbey is one of the most interesting areas of London, because Westminster has been the center of the city's affairs since the 11th century. This is also where many of London's most important sights are located. You start your tour at Green Park Underground Station and make your way from there. The walk takes you to Buckingham Palace, which has been the residence of the British monarch since Queen Victoria's time. With a little luck you will experience the changing of the guard in front of St. James's Palace.
St. James's Park, located directly between Buckingham Palace and Whitehall, invites you to linger. Eventually you will arrive at Whitehall, the street that connects Trafalgar Square with Parliament Square.
At the end of the tour you will explore Parliament Square with the imposing Palace of Westminster, the seat of Parliament, and 'Big Ben'. This is where the famous Westminster Abbey and St. Margaret's Church are located. As the tour is designed to give you a good overview of the neighborhood, interior visits are not provided. Of course, towards the end of the tour you are cordially invited to visit all the points that you would like to get to know better.
We walk in a small group of no more than 10 people.
