Description of Tour

Udine the Venetian style city, also called the city of the painter Tiepolo.

The influence of the long reign of the Serenissima can be seen in the squares surrounded by arcades, loggias and palaces and where the castle dominates the hill.

From the hill, your gaze sweeps over the red roofs of the city and sees man the crown of the hills and the Alps at the north of the city.

Udine, the city of the painter Giambattista Tiepolo, who spent in this city a particularly fruitful period for his artistic career, left extraordinary traces in the Domo of the 14th century. Century or in the Church Oratorio della Purità and especially in the Patriarchal Palace, where the galleries named after him are located.

Udine is an elegant and convivial city, where in the centre there are numerous restaurants, wine bars, cafés, beautiful shops and elegant buildings.

During the 3 hour guided tour we will visit the following sights:

• Piazza della Libertà: the most beautiful Venetian square on the mainland
• Castle Hill with castle, view over the Alps, the oldest church in the city, the arched gallery Loggia di Lippomano.
• Palazzo d'Aronco: seat of the municipal government and most famous building of the Friulian architect Raimondo D'Aronco.
• Piazza Matteotti , salotto - living room of the city with the beautiful San Giacomo Church.
• Duomo di Udine; the Cathedral of Udine with works and frescoes by the famous Baroque painter Giambattista Tiepolo.
• Oratorio della Purità: small church decorated with frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo and his son Giandomenico Tiepolo.
• Palazzo Patiarcale: visit the Patriarchal Palace, the current seat of the Archbishop whereby many rooms are decorated with frescoes by Tiepolo.

The entrance to Palazzo Patriarcale is not included when booking the tour, watch out on Tuesdays shot.
