Who knew a country trip could be so much fun? We grab our powerful e-bikes and set off through dazzling Vienna. Our first stop: the Karlskirche! Here we see the baroque pomp that even Mozart raved about. Speaking of Mozart, imagine him conducting his own “Magic Flute” in the Theater im Freihaus! And that's not all, Joseph Ettenreich - the protector of Emperor Franz Josef - had his home in the immediate vicinity, which we also see.
We continue to Schubert's death house, where we wonder whether he also argued with the neighbor about the garbage. Otto Wagner's majolica houses are also a highlight - they look as if they were painted yesterday!
The journey to Schönbrunn Palace takes us through the “Gate to the West”. Directly into the courtyard. Now we deserve a break.
Rested, we head back along Vienna's MaHü shopping mile. And if we're lucky and have enough time, we'll treat ourselves to an ice cream at Bordolotti! Of course, only if we don't get too distracted with the stories of the court furniture depot.
Finally we cycle through the Hofburg back to the starting point. So, on to the next round of ice cream and history!
