Join me on this fantastic tour to see our capital and the surrounding area. In the morning I show them the vibrant city centre of Amsterdam and in the afternoon we visit traditional fishing villages on the IJsselmeer.
What better way to start the day than with a round trip through the world famous Amsterdam canals. The tour also takes us through the canal belt which was created exactly 400 years ago around the old town of Amsterdam. Here are the city palaces of the rich patrician families from the 17th century.
After that, I'll take you on a relaxing walk in Amsterdam's Old Town. We will see the Chinese Quarter and if you want also the red light district of this port city, which is known far beyond our borders.
You will be impressed by the markets, definitely the floating flower market, which takes place every day on one of the 165 canals.
Of course we will also have a look at the Royal Palace and the New Church on Dam Square, in the centre of the city. On April 30, 2013, the coronation ceremonies for King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima took place here.
After our walk through the city, we head to a painterly windmill village north of Amsterdam. The contrast couldn't be greater. A picture-book panorama unfolds before your eyes, just as you probably imagine Holland: water, windmills and green-and-white-painted wooden houses.
Here we visit a windmill that is still in operation. Learn all about this Dutch landmark. We will also visit a cheese dairy and a wooden shoemaker. You will be amazed at how quickly a shoe can be made from a piece of wood.
In the windmill village you will have enough time to walk around, buy souvenirs or for a typical Dutch pancake meal.
The tour ends after our return trip in Amsterdam.
Note: Pick up at hotel in the city center is possible. Please indicate your hotel when booking.
Admission fees amp; travel costs (approx. EUR 35 per person, to be paid on the day of the tour):
