We leave Lisbon by train and travel along the riverside and along the coast. Cascais is a fisher town, but also known to have been the first tourism destiny created in Portugal. King Luis I started spending the summer in Cascais in the 19th century, protected by its beautiful bay. Royalties and spies played an important role during World War II, making its Casino very popular.
Once in Cascais we walk through the center of the village and visit the Cascais Citadel Palace, where the last Kings of Portugal spent the summer.
Nowadays, a big part of the Portuguese elite lives in Cascais. During your free time in the historical center you have the opportunity to walk along the sea, shops or enjoy lunch.
You are welcome to remain in the afternoon in Cascais and visit other Museums or take a bicycle ride along the sea.
We are very flexible, this is a private tour! We are delighted to adapt and change the tour according to your wishes. Let us know and we send you a personalized proposal!
