Valencia Fallas are celebrated every year in March. The main holidays are between March 15th and 19th. But already in late February you can enjoy some of the festival's features, such as the 'ninots' exhibition. These little 'dolls' surround the huge Fallas monument. There is constant noise all around town as Valencianos shoot fireworks, and there are special pastries... and all this because of Saint Joseph?! What does he have to do with it?!
That's one of the many questions we will answer on our 4-hours guided tour through the streets of Old Town Valencia. We will combine a typicial visit to the historical centre (Cathedral, Serrano gate etc.) with a detailed explanation about Fallas:
How did this festival come to be?
What are Valencianos doing during Fallas?
Why are there so many fireworks and fire crackers?
How expensive are the traditional Falleras dress amp; jewelries?
Who are the artists behind the Fallas monuments?
How can I become the Fallera Mayor of Valencia?
...and so much more!
There is also the possibility to arrange VIP viewing of Mascleta fireworks (2 pm!) from a balcony. Impressive and without the ever-pushing crowds!
