Pick up guests at the ship's dock, airport or hotel in Lisbon.
Dreamily located, historically rich and with an intoxicating attitude to life: Lisbon is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
Sympathetically open, cosmopolitically colourful, sometimes old-fashioned, sometimes cheerfully young and modern, sometimes village cloistered - but always worth a trip, that is Portugal's vibrant capital. But Lisbon is also a city full of contrasts: beautiful, historic buildings contrast with avant-garde architecture, lively hustle and bustle with melancholy fado and modern big-city flair with romantic corners.
Due to the nearby Atlantic Ocean, the city on the Rio Tejo shines in a particularly clear light during the day, which is why it is also called the "white city".
Panoramic drive through some of Lisbon's picturesque neighborhoods to the lower town of Baixa.
Pass the Rossio towardsCommerce Square.
A round trip on part of the route of the famous tram 28, through the Alfama, oldest quarter of Lisbon with its narrow streets.
Then drive to the Hieronymus Monastery* (World Heritage Site), with a visit to the church. Guests will have the opportunity to visit the cloisters.
Afterwards, the drive will take us to the Belém Tower, landmark of the city of Lisbon (World Heritage Site) on the Tagus River. At the monument we also see the copy of the plane in which two Portuguese pilots, Gago Coutinho and Sacadura Cabral, made the first South Atlantic flight, in 1922. Photo stop.
The Monument of the Discoveries, 60m high and built in 1960, is nearby and there we see the more than 30 statues honoring the Portuguese navigators, as well as the marble world map and compass rose, gift of the Republic of South Africa in 1960.
