Prado Museum is located in a neoclassic building designed by the architect Juan de Villanueva in 1785 and originally planned as a Museum of Natural History. It has been an Art Museum since 1819, it houses the best collection in the world of Spanish paintings.
If you don´t want to contend with long queues and wating times at the museum I recommend you to visit The Prado with me. A 2 hour guided tour in the museum where we´ll enjoy in a very nice and easy way the great Prado's masterpieces like “The Garden of Earthly Delights” by Hieronimus Bosch, “Las Meninas” by Velazquez, “The Lavatory” by Tiziano, “Las Majas” by Goya or “The Three Graces” by Rubens. After visiting The Prado we´ll start a walking tour to discover “Madrid of the Bourbons” which is the historical area around The Prado, a look at the monumental legacy The Bourbon kings left in Madrid.
Itinerary: Prado Museum,Parque del Retiro, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza Cibeles, monumental fountains(Cibeles,Apolo and Neptuno), spanish Parliament. Any suggestion about any other monument or site to visit will be welcome.
