The museum opened its doors in December 2010 in the Palazzo dell’Arengario next to the Duomo.
The display and chronological sequence of the 350 works selected for the Museum of the twentieth century and its great Civic Art collections begins with its strengths: Futurism, the Novecento, Spatialism, Arte Povera, and outstanding artistic personalities such as Boccioni, Carrà, Soffici, de Chirico, Sironi, Martini, Morandi, Fontana, Manzoni, Kounellis and many others. The exhibition path ends with the works dated 1968, a year marking social and artistic revolution towards new ways of expression.
The Museum develops on five floors and the top floor, overlooking the Duomo square, offers a grand view of the Cathedral spires.
Notes: The admission time to the exhibition must be agreed upon when booking the guided visit.
