Warsaw has changed a lot since 1989 when the Communist regime ended. New opportunities for democratic Poland and its capital city resulted in rapid growth of quality of life for its citizens. On this tour you will see a bit of Polish history mixed with the modern city of Warsaw.
The UNESCO World Heritage Old Town is unmissable - quite literally. The Old Town is both a physical and symbolic expression of the city’s spirit and determination to come back from the brink of annihilation at the end of World War II. In addition to a number of palaces, Lazienki Park contains the Chopin Monument, where the annual Chopin recitals are held each summer. Modern architecture mixed with old buildings makes today’s Warsaw a truly unique experience.
ROUTE: Old & New Towns - historical part of Warsaw (Cathedral church, Market square, streets and monuments, optional – Royal Castle interior and/or film about the destruction of Warsaw during WW2 – 20 minute documentary - optional); Lazienki Royal Park - Summer Residence of the last King of Poland (romantic park with 18th century architecture with optional visit to Palace on the Water interior); Modern Warsaw – city center modern architecture plus optional - Warsaw panorama from 30th floor of the Palace of Science and Culture (optional)
