Description of Tour

Who is the tour for?

This tour is ideal for guests who are in Warsaw for the first time. In these 3 hours you will get to know the many different faces of the Polish capital in a small space. At the end you will be well equipped for further exploration on your own.

Provided meeting point or pick-up at the hotel (upon request)

The meeting point is provided at the bus and suburban train station Centrum in front of the Novotel hotel, which is over 100 meters high and dressed in white.

I can also pick you up at the hotel upon request. Just tell me the name of the hotel and together we will make our way to the starting point.

Tour itinerary

The tour starts at the Palace of Culture, the tallest building in Warsaw and Poland (still) at 237 meters.

Followed by Swietokrzyska Street, the tour continues to the northern section of Warsaw's Royal Tract, which here includes Krakowskie Przedmiescie Street. This is the most famous promenade in Poland. The city guide will show you the following sights here:

  • the Nicholas Copernicus Monument
  • the Holy.Cross Church with the walled heart of Frédéric Chopin
  • the campus of the University of Warsaw
  • Pilsudski Square with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
  • the Bristol Hotel, which has been open continuously since 1901
  • the Presidential Palace
  • St.Anna church with the baroque organ from the 17th century

At the end of the royal tract also already begins the Old Town, which as a masterpiece of the Polish reconstruction art is to be found since 1980 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Past the Old Town Market Square, the Barbican and the remains of the medieval city wall, we move on to the last section.

Directly behind the old part of the Old Town is the birthplace of Marie Curie-Sklodowska and the home of E.T.A. Hoffmann, who left something very decisive here and is partly better known in Warsaw than in Germany.

Closing

Last but not least, we go to the Memorial of the Warsaw Uprising and back to the Royal Castle Square with the Sigismund Column. Right here is the aforementioned border between the Royal Tract and the Old Town of Warsaw. From there it is a simple matter to find a good restaurant for lunch, have a coffee or go straight to the hotel to freshen up for further exploring.
