Description of Tour

The ancient provincial capital Girona is incomprehensibly little visited compared to the nearby Costa Brava or the metropolis Barcelona, only 100 km away. Yet the medieval city centre is one of the most beautiful in Spain. Romanesque and Gothic are very well represented, the Catedral even has the largest Gothic vault in the world. And Girona can also show a very special jewel: The former Jewish quarter of El Call, one of the best preserved in Europe, with its winding alleys and narrowest stairways. A guided tour is really worthwhile, not only to see these highlights, but also to examine the ordinary everyday life in the nice streets and alleys of the old town.

This tour can be very well combined with a visit to the nearby Dalí Museum in Figueres, as well as to the nearby beautiful medieval village of Besalú. It is also highly recommended to visit the beautiful villages of Sant Feliu de Guixols and/or Tossa de Mar on the way back.

Day trip with round trip by car/minibus/bus and pick up from your accommodation.

Distance from Barcelona: 100 km in northern direction, approx. 1:15 hrs.
