Description of Tour

Shrouded in clouds and native legends - one of the most famous symbols of Patagonia. The climb to the summit allows you to experience a magical moment and find yourself in harmony with nature.

This magical mountain hike starts in the evening with the drive (1.5h) from Puerto Varas to the mountain hut "El Refugio Teski" at Osorno Volcano (1200m). Here we prepare our equipment and register with CONAF. After dinner together we rest for the ascent. Before sunrise the next day, we will begin the ascent to the summit of Osorno, at about 2,656m above sea level.
Depending on the progress of the group, we will reach the summit at noon at the latest. There we will stop for a snack and a rest and enjoy the moment. The panorama that we will enjoy there includes the countless waters of this region: the lake Todos Los Santos, the river Petrohue, as well as the lakes Llanquihue and Rupanco. We also enjoy a unique view of the volcanoes: Puntiagudo, Tronador, Calbuco, Casablanca, Puyehe and, in good weather, even Llaima in the Araucania region (over 300km away).
The descent from the summit begins at approximately 1:30pm and, depending on progress, is expected to end at 5pm with the return trip to Puerto Varas.
