Description of Tour
A city tour of about 2 hours on the traces of Jewish life in Karlsruhe since the founding of the city in 1715. The tour is limited to the city center and includes 9 stops.
Topics include:
- the model state of Baden in the 19th century. Century
- the emancipation of the Jews in Karlsruhe
- the development of the Jewish community since 1715
- personalities from politics, economy and culture
- the deportation to Gurs in 1940
- Jewish life after 1945

You can request a guided tour in the old Jewish cemetery or in the current Jewish cemetery at the Jewish community Karlsruhe or at the Info Center of the main cemetery.
Requirements
Be mobile: 2 hours with small breaks to sit and stand for longer periods. You can also bring folding chairs or similar.
