Description of Tour
The old medieval community core of the Historic Centre of Oporto, undoubtedly, provides a wide range of interesting locations and sightseeings for those who visit this Northern city.
During this tour, we will discover theaters who witnessed the winds of liberal and Republicans Porto’s society of the XIX-XX centuries; the well renowned and authentic S. Bento Station, being recognized worldwide for its tiles that depict medieval and Portuguese Discoveries´ events; the Cathedral, a real fortress-church that has witnessed several architectural transformations from the Romanesque period (XII Century) to the Portuguese’s Baroque (XVIII Century); ancient custom houses which stored and inspected the goods that came from the Portuguese colonies and the ancient core of Miragaia’s parish, one of the oldest parishes in the city of Porto, connected to the river front city of Vila Nova de Gaia.
